165cm, 136lbs, 2 kids breastfed and I'm a very deflated 36B looking for a natural but full look.
Shape after breast augmentation
Jan 4, 2017
I understand your confusion. Keep in the mind that upper pole fullness is created by the implant. If the implant is narrower, it is not only less wide, but also less tall, so will not reach as far up on the chest wall. This means a higher profile implant may actually create less upper pole fullness. From your stated preferences, it sounds like you might actually want a lower profile implant (as suggested by our surgeon) if upper pole fullness is your top...
Had Breast Augmentation 2 years ago, why is one more saggy than the other?
Asymmetry after breast augmentation
Jan 4, 2017
It's normal to have some asymmetry after breast augmentation, mostly because breasts are never perfectly symmetrical. As your breasts change over time, you may notice a change in the way your augmented breasts look mostly because of changes in the breasts themselves, not necessarily in the implants or position of the implants. Regardless of the cause, a board certified plastic surgeon can assess the issue and provide you with options for improvement. I'd start with a...
Can I have a larger high profile implant without a lift?
Lift or implants?
Jan 4, 2017
It is normal to experience changes in your breasts over time. Especially with weight loss or pregnancy, many women experience deflation of the breasts that leaves them appearing slightly low and flatter at the top. Both implants and a lift address this issue, but in different ways. To simplify, a lift will make the nipple appear higher on the breast mound, but will do little to change the shape of the breast. An implant will make the breast appear rounder, and more full at the...

How to choose the right size
Jan 4, 2017
Implant sizing is a very individualized process. Only you can answer the question, “what is the right size for me?” I like to recommend what we call the “Rice Test”. This essentially is a calculated way of stuffing your bra, and can actually be an excellent way to understand what volume will create your desired outcome. Our office also offers sizing help with gel sizing systems and 3D Vectra imaging simulations to help you in your decision. It might be helpful to conside...

Blister after surgery
Jan 4, 2017
This likely represents an area of delayed healing due to the change in blood supply that occurs to the skin during breast reduction. As your tissues recover, the skin will heal, but it will take time. Touch base with your plastic surgeon for more specific wound care instructions and information about infection prevention. Regular follow up is your best bet. This will be okay!
Are partly raised scars normal after a breast reduction? (14 days post op) Should I buy surgical tape and
Scar appearance after surgery
Jan 4, 2017
It is normal to have slightly raised appearing scars right after surgery. These tend to become less raised and lighter in color over time. If you noticed they begin to look more raised or more red/pink over time, this would be an indication for scar care treatment. Silicone sheeting or silicone gels are a good place to start. You can find these online, or ask your plastic surgeon about them. In our office, we carry both sheeting and gel in our preferred brand....
Sharp, stabbing pains after breast reduction?
Pain after surgery
Jan 4, 2017
It can be very normal to experience changes in sensation after breast reduction. This applies to the sensation of pain as well. Some patients will experience new intermittent pain as they continue to heal because the nerves are also healing and changing. Our patients often find that applying pressure can help reduce pain, or wearing a supportive bra that reduces movement of the breasts. This might be a good place to start.

Remember, you should follow your...

Bras after surgery
Jan 4, 2017
It looks like you are doing quite well! It can be helpful to wear support, mostly to reduce discomfort. Bras will not change the ultimate outcome of your reduction, so don't worry! A bra that rubs on your skin, however, can cause some trauma to the skin and should be avoided if possible. Keep in mind that areas where you have had surgery might not have normal sensation, so you might not get feedback if the bra is hurting your skin. I usually ask patients to wear...
Implants move when I flex? Is this normal? Will it ever go away?
Implant movement
Dec 23, 2016
Although implants under the muscle do offer a safer and more natural appearing breast augmentation, movement of the implant with muscle flexion can be visible in some patients. In patients with minimal fat and/or minimal breast tissue, this may be more noticeable. Implants placed above the muscle can be more visible; this includes seeing rippling or seeing the edge of the implant. There are pros and cons to both, unfortunately. I'd recommend following up with...
FemTouch - How many treatments before results will become apparent?
Optimizing Outcome with FemTouch
Nov 2, 2016
The number of treatments can vary depending on your symptoms, age, and whether or not you have gone through menopause. In general, we find that three treatments is optimal, but many patients see improvement after their first treatment. You may also find that you want to do some "maintenance" treatments once per year after completion of your first set of treatments. It would be best to ask your provider about which treatment length would be best for you. FemTouch...
Indentation where incision scars are at. Will they round out?
Indented scar
Aug 17, 2016
It's possible that this could persist, but definitely requires more time to know for sure. It is hard to say how likely it is to resolve without being able to see it, so might be worth a conversation with your plastic surgeon. I always recommend we allow at least 6-8 weeks after surgery to allow post operative changes to diminish prior to making decisions about revision surgery. Revision surgery could make an indented scar better, so there are options should this not resolve....
Will there be complications swapping a teardrop shaped implant for round? Will I achieve more cleavage or
Implant options
Jul 27, 2016
You have an excellent outcome after surgery; it looks like everything went very well! That being said, I see a clear difference between your post operative pictures and your posted "desired" look. It does seem that the shape shown in the "desired" picture correlates more with a round implant. Round implants provide more upper pole fullness than tear drop shaped implants. Although more upper pole fullness is often desired, it is considered the less natural...
My breasts fill hard and when I flex my chest muscle I wrinkle all up in the breast area. Can this be fix
Correcting animation deformity
Jul 27, 2016
As already mentioned, this is related to having an implant under the muscle. Fat grafting may help by softening the appearance, but will not get rid of the issue. Some patients have tried Botox to the pectoralis major muscle. This paralyzes the muscle so flexion is not possible, but is temporary. Although much more involved, another option could be to pursue flap surgery. This type of surgery is very involved, so has an extended recovery time, but would create a breast...
Do I qualify for breast reduction surgery? Ins provider United Healthcare
Insurance coverage for breast reduction
Jul 21, 2016
Coverage is insurance specific and varies. Meeting with a plastic surgeon will be the best way to know a more definitive answer as it depends on many different variables including your height and weight, estimated weight of tissue to be removed, and associated symptoms. It can also be helpful to bring any documentation you have of other treatments you have sought out for your complaints. Good luck!

Tattoo and breast augmentation
Jul 21, 2016
It's hard to accurately predict how your tattoo may change, if at all, but it seems you should be prepared that it might change and feel that risk is worth it. Good luck with your decision!
