The benefit of the vertical incision is to take the tension off your scars so that they heal finer and less noticeable. It also allows better shaping to the breast. As long as you stay with an implant that fits your natural breast diameter, the breasts will look proportionate and defined. Cup size is very dependent on your natural breast diameter, But based off the photos, I would suggest a full profile mid to high cohesive silicone implant in the upper 200’s or low 300’s. Under the muscle will support your implant, hide the edges of the implant providing a softer result, prevent capsular contractures, as well as having clearer mammograms. Areola reduction can be done prior to having children and generally will not interfere with breastfeeding. Hormones and weight changes or breast size changes could lead to the areola stretching out again, but can be redone. A consultation to determine the size recommendation for your areola reduction would be recommended. During your consult, you would be informed of all risks associated with surgery and what expectations you should have.

Congratulations on your surgery. It is completely normal to continue to have muscle tightness at this point. The cycle of spasms can be different for all patients, based on muscle tightness and implant size. The roller coaster generally starts to subside around the two week mark, but can take up to several months before you get to your final result. Give it time, following your doctor’s instructions and restrictions. Ice packs can help as well. Best wishes!
