Biography: Shanna began her pursuit of knowledge in the field of science beginning in high school, taking courses such as molecular genetics, anatomy & physiology, biology, and chemistry. In 2007, she completed a molecular genetics internship at Mount Saint Mary’s University where she used the ELISA assay technique to investigate a correlation between low serum alpha-1 antitrypsin and autism under the tutelage of Dr. Anthony J. Russo. She was also the Vice President of the National Chinese Honors Society and received the Meritorious Service Contributors Honor.
