This patient came in after having weight loss. As a result of his weight loss, he had quite a bit of excess skin and tissue that dwelled all around his abdomen and back. He met with the board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bivik Shah to discuss how to rid his excess skin and tissue. They discussed a procedure called a Belt Lipectomy. This is when the incision runs all along the patient’s waist line (just like a belt). This procedure involves removal of the tissue from the back. It rids any excess skin and tissue causing upper back rolls. This also lifts the buttocks. Then, the patient’s incision is continues to the front side. The excess skin and tissue from the front is removed completely to give a nice smooth appearance to the abdomen. Also, the abdominal muscles are tightened which will give a real nice defined look to the belly. This man had a total of 8.2lbs removed from his waist.
