Should I get a breast reduction even though I love my boobs?
Probably not
Feb 5, 2019
If you love your body and have no symptoms, it doesn’t make sense to have a breast reduction.  The operation is supposed to decrease symptoms and help your self-image – it’s not like a cancer surgery where you could die if you don’t have it right away.
I’m not sure why your mom would pressure you to have it done if you are not having any symptoms.  Has she explained her reasoning?  (Some possibilities that come to mind are that she might wish she could have had this surgery wh…
What should I do if a fat necrosis lump has lasted over 2 years?
Is it causing symptoms?
Feb 5, 2019
A lump of fat necrosis might or might not go away on its own.  It is safe to leave it alone as long as it is not causing symptoms (such as pain or tenderness), and is not interfering with breast cancer screening (breast exams and mammograms).  If it is symptomatic, needle aspiration and/or excision could be needed.  The necrotic fat sometimes breaks down to form a cyst full of oil, which could be aspirated out with a needle.  If it has become more solid scar tissue, it could be excised …
Will jowls after face/neck lift disappear over time?
Still early
Feb 5, 2019
It is very hard to tell without an in-person examination, but from the shininess of your skin in your after photos, it looks like you still have quite a bit of swelling.  It is still too early to make a judgment on whether you will need a revision surgery.
3 weeks post internal ptosis and upper lid blepharoplasty. Does the healing look right?
Still swollen at 3 weeks
Jan 15, 2019
An in-person examination and preop photos would be needed to be sure of how you are doing, but the swelling in your photos appears within the limits of normal.  From your photos it looks like you have redhead skin type, which typically stays swollen and pink for longer than most other skin types.  Sore, tired feeling eyes could be due to dryness, since swollen, stiff eyelids sometimes don’t blink very effectively to lubricate your eyes.  It’s probably best for you to contact your surgeon …
Air pocket and a pea size something. Am I feeling a cyst? Will I still be able to feel them with my f
Many possibilities
Jan 3, 2019
At two weeks postop, you could be feeling an air bubble (which will absorb away on its own), the edge of the implant, the implant valve (if you have saline implants), one of your usual breast cysts (which could have changed position from surgery), a new breast cyst (which can form at any time), or a knot of suture.  More details about your surgery and probably an in-person examination would be needed to determine what it is.
My eyes and cheeks are very asymmetrical, especially when smiling. How can I fix this?
Maybe Botox, need more information
Jan 3, 2019
It’s hard to say without an in-person exam, or at least photos showing your whole face at rest and while smiling, but from your description and photos, a portion of your orbicularis oculi muscle (the muscle that you use to close your eyes and to squint) might be overactive in the area under the lateral right eyebrow, causing it to pull up, or even to dimple when you smile or squint.  Not only have I seen this before, I actually have it in my left eyebrow, too.  It’s just part of the range…
I have one smaller eye because of neglected torticollis. Is there any surgery that can help correct i
See a craniofacial specialist
Jan 3, 2019
You are fortunate to live in a city with several centers for craniofacial surgery.  Treatment of facial asymmetry and deformity caused by torticollis is part of this subspecialty.  Without specific information about your case and/or a photo, I cannot be more specific about what could be done for you, but consulting with one or more craniofacial surgeons would be an excellent first step.
After having Botox to correct a squint, can you drink alcohol?
Alcohol and Botox
Dec 14, 2018
I know of no direct interactions between Botox and alcohol.  For best results, you should remain awake, exercise the treated facial muscles, avoid rubbing or pressing on the areas, and not lie down for four hours after injections, so enjoy in moderation.
I would like to get knee and thigh liposuction before my knee replacement. Is this possible in my sit
Lipo before knee replacement
Dec 14, 2018
It would be a good idea to ask this question of your orthopedic surgeon, since he/she knows more about your knees than anyone in this forum.  In general, liposuction removes fat between the skin and the muscle and/or joint fascia.  When done properly, it does not affect the knee joint itself.  Therefore, I see no reason liposuction couldn’t be done before a knee replacement, as long as you allow enough time between the surgeries to allow complete healing (about 6 months).  The amount of fat …
How can I distinguish between regular asymmetrical healing versus capsular contracture?
More likely muscle tightness
Nov 29, 2018
Capsular contracture is a slow process that evolves over many weeks/months.  At only 10 days after surgery, muscle tightness is a much more likely explanation.  You report that side has been more painful since the day of surgery, so it may be having muscle spasms.  Ask your doctor about it and whether a muscle relaxing medication might help.
How long after TT surgery do I have to wait to resume HRT?
Depends on why you had to stop
Nov 26, 2018
How long to stay off hormone replacement therapy (HRT) after surgery depends upon the reason it had to be stopped for surgery in the first place.  The most likely reason would be that HRT is a risk factor for DVT/PE (blood clots in the legs that can travel to the lungs and cause lung damage or even sudden death).  There are many other things that can also affect your risks for DVT which need to be taken into account to answer your question.  It would be best for you to ask your plasti…
Is it normal for my breasts to look so uneven after implants?
Need more information and photos
Nov 2, 2018
It is difficult to answer your question without some more information:How long has it been since surgery?I’m not sure what you mean when you say your surgeon took fat out of one of your breasts and you think he inserted it into the other.  That does not sound like a typical procedure.  When fat transfer is used in breast augmentation, it is usually harvested from the tummy, hips, and/or thighs, not the opposite breast.  It is difficult to assess your asymmetry when you’re holding the came…

Need more information
Nov 2, 2018
It would be helpful to include more information about your surgery.  Did your facelift include a SMAS lift, fat grafting, etc?  It would also be helpful to have a photo not so close-up to show more perspective of your facial contours.
Why is my face covered in blisters after Botox 2 weeks ago and how do I treat them?
Need to have them looked at
Oct 29, 2018
It is hard to diagnose from photos, but a number of things come to mind:
While an infection from contaminated Botox is possible, I would expect larger, more deep-seated pustules at each needle site.  What I see in the photos looks like smaller, randomly scattered blisters, not in a symmetrical pattern typical for Botox injection sites.
I do not think it is likely to be caused by inadequate skin prep.  While we prep the skin with a disinfectant as a matter of routine, it is probably ov…
Why was I rejected for buccal fat removal?
Photos don’t show enough of face
Sep 27, 2018
I cannot speak for the other doctor, but the photos you posted here do not show enough of your cheeks for me to be able to tell whether you would benefit from buccal lipectomy.
