Facial PRP. Is one session enough for me?
How many sessions are needed for PRP facials?
Apr 10, 2018
For best results, most require more than one PRP microneedling treatment and my suggestion for most is at least 2-3 treatments usually. It also depends on the condition of your skin prior to treatments. Since many are usually opting for PRP microneedling to help for fine lines and wrinkles, one session is usually not enough. If you have minimal wrinkles and doing treatments as preventative then one session may be sufficient. Overall for maintenance, many patients opt to do the…
Vampire Facials. Lasting benefits, or just overpriced microneedling?
Vampire Facial is superior to microneedling on its own
Aug 31, 2017
Terri,
The Vampire Facial is a far more effective treatment than microneedling on its own because of the use of PRP (Platelet rich plasma). PRP helps signal growth factors in the treated areas to signal repair and therefore can create lasting results to improve wrinkles, scars and discolorations. Although the microneedling with PRP does not prevent fat loss, I do a combination of the Vampire facial and facelift so my patients can enjoy the best of both worlds especially if they are…
Can pregnant women get the O-Shot?
Oshot during Pregnancy
Aug 31, 2017
Although the Oshot is a very safe procedure, it is best to avoid any elective type procedure especially any in the vaginal region due to any issues that may coincidentally arise during pregnancy. Most physicians will avoid this procedure and most elective procedures during this time as to avoid any risk that may be blamed if there is any complication with the pregnancy.
Considering the O-Shot to increase increase intimate sensation and annoying incontinence, is th
Oshot can help for both
Aug 31, 2017
As previously mentioned, the oshot is a great alternative and safe treatment for stress urinary incontinence and to help improve sexual sensation and potentially improve orgasms whether clitoral orgasm or vaginal orgasms. The easier answer to this question is improvement of urinary incontinence that commonly happens when pelvic floor has some weakness which can be caused by a variety of reason but in young women commonly caused by childbirth and difficulty with strengthening pelvic…
Where is PRP injected in vaginal area during O-shot?
O-Shot and PRP
Aug 31, 2017
The Oshot typically uses 5 cc of PRP and depending on the providers preference of PRP kits they use, the amount of blood they draw varies but is typically 30 cc or less. A centrifuge is used to separate the platelets into the PRP solution. This is divided into injections in two areas, one is the clitoral region and the other is inside the vagina. A topical numbing anesthetic is initially used and takes typically 15-30 minutes for best effect as well as many…
Hair growth product claims – true or no evidence? Monat and “IT Works”.
Monat is actually a great product for hair loss
Aug 16, 2017
SO it is not new the skepticism we, as physicians, have of products that are sold online or via health food store. They are all scams right? …not necessarily. However, as physicians we are taught evidence based medicine and if there are no direct studies stating it’s efficacy and safety then we have difficulty recommending or really just no enough information so more than likely we will discourage the use. Or if it is not a pharmaceutical then it obviously has no place for a doctor…
Selphyl. What is it? How does it work?
Selphyl is a branded name for preparation of PRP
Jul 28, 2017
In a simplistic answers, Selphyl is a branded preparation system to prepare PRP which is derived from a small amount of your own blood. PRPor PRFM (which is PRP with an activator) is then injected in target areas to act similarly to a filler. PRP can be prepared via differed centrifuges and kits but be sure your doctor is using FDA approved PRP kits.
