Thanks for your email and photos. Gynecomastia is typically both excess fat and breast glad. Both contribute to the shape of the breasts and the stretching of the chest skin and areola/nipples. Thanks for your question. Typically men that have issues with Gynecomastia have both bothersome gland and fat in their chest. Weight loss and exercise is always the best answer for excess fat, but I find that most men find that this chest fat is hard to diet and exercise off. Surgery is also necessary for the gland removal. Thanks for your photos and question. I agree with the other physicians here in that you would benefit from an in person examination from a board certified plastic surgeon. Based on your photo, you seem very lean and fit. I would expect you to have minimal fat on your chest. If you are bothered by fullness underneath your areola, there may be gland there. That would require a surgical excision. I hope this helps and I wish you well!

I strongly urge you to meet with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss a plan as it will likely involve addressing your loose skin. Thanks for your question! There are 2 reasons to delay your procedure. Firstly, you want to avoid anesthesia and pain medicine and antibiotics from an elective procedure in your breast milk. Secondly, your body is still likely going through changes after your pregnancy and you want to be at a stable and sustainable weight before having any body contouring procedure. I highly recommend you speak with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for you consultation.

Thanks for your question. Liposuction is not a form of weight-loss and people do best when they have body contouring procedure when they are closest to their ideal weight. Having said that, I think you BMI is fine. I say that not having examined you or heard about your medical history. BMI is not always the best predictor of weight, etc. I suggest you meet with a board certified plastic surgeon for an examination and discussion of a surgical plan.
