Will there be huge holes in chest wall if I explant?
No hole!
Oct 4, 2018
Hi Vinyas,
Removing a breast implant is done through the same incision used to place the initial implant typically. Although some of the skin may have been stretched out with a large implant, generally you will be close in size to how you were preoperatively. Depending on the degree of stretch, you wish to consider a breast lift in addition to the implant removal. Discuss these issues with your board-certified plastic surgeon!
Which tummy tuck would suit me best?
Mommy makeover
Aug 23, 2018
Based on the photograph you provided, you seem to be an excellent candidate for a full abdominoplasty to address the excess skin of your abdomen. During this procedure, the muscle of the abdominal wall can be tightened to create a narrower waist and flatter abdomen. Liposuction can be added in as well to address excess fat in the upper abdomen and flanks.
You also seem to be a great candidate for a breast lift or a small reduction, depending on your personal desires. Both…
Is it possible to have a fat transferred from the breasts to buttocks?
Fat transfer from breasts
Aug 23, 2018
Transferring breast tissue to elsewhere in the body is not advisable. The breast tissue that is removed with liposuction has the potential to become cancerous cells in the future and there would be no reliable way to monitor the transferred cells elsewhere in the body.
The good news is if you have large breasts and are considering a reduction you probably have enough fat deposits elsewhere that can be used to increase the size of your buttocks and/or round out your hips as…
I want to get a breast augmentation and BBL, is it recommended to get a BBL first or breast aug
Multiple procedures
Aug 23, 2018
Doing a BBL and a breast augmentation together poses challenges during the recovery period. Since it is important to offload pressure from the buttock, most surgeons have patients sleep on their stomach. This is not advisable after a breast augmentation however since it places a good deal of pressure on the implants and could affect their position. Although more expensive and two recoveries, your results will be better overall if you can separate the procedures….
When does a Brazilian Butt Lift begin soften?
BBL recovery
Aug 23, 2018
This is an interesting question.
Of course, there is the initial swelling and bruising immediately after surgery that mostly goes away within the first few weeks. After a few months, this has resolved.
BBL’s are unique however in that around the 6 month time point many people notice a “plumping” effect where the transplanted fat begins to enlarge a bit more and soften. This really enhances the result! Patience is certainly a virtue with this surgery.
I am a 29 year old female who would like to add some volume on my butt.
Skinny BBL
Aug 23, 2018
An in person exam will determine if you have some areas of fat that can successfully be harvested. Generally speaking, a modest BBL can be done in a thin patient like yourself. I think it is important that you mentioned you do not want the ‘exaggerated’ look. If fat is really limited, consideration can be given to doing a non-surgical approach to address your hip dips, although this has a host of drawbacks.
Am I too skinny for a BBL?
BBL for a fit woman
Aug 23, 2018
You are in excellent shape which would make doing a high-volume BBL not possible. An in person exam would determine if there are any fat pockets which can be harvested. I personally do not believe in the philosophy of gaining weight for a BBL – what do you think will happen when you lose it?! I would emphasize the importance of your priorities: are you looking to slim your waist with liposuction? Fill in the “hip dips” with fat? Some of these goals are achievable. Some…
What will be the best procedure?
Tummy tuck with or without liposuction?
Nov 28, 2017
Hi Taycain,
Thanks for posting a great question. Both a tummy tuck alone or a tummy tuck with liposuction are good options and will dramatically recontour your abdomen. The choice to add in liposuction really depends on what you are hoping to achieve. The liposuction will be most effective in the love-handle/flank area where it can create a tighter waist giving you a curvier look. Most of my patients with similar builds opt to add in liposuction. Best of luck!
What is the best material to build up a stronger nose bridge?
Rhinoplasty concerns
Nov 28, 2017
Hi there,
First of all, I am glad you asked specifically about cartilage, which is superior to implants for building up the bridge of your nose. The best choice depends on how much of your bridge needs to be built up. If it is a mild to moderate increase, then diced cartilage (either septum, ear, or both) is excellent. If you need a very significant increase, then using rib cartilage may be better. Best to see a plastic surgeon well versed in rhinoplasty to help guide you…
I have huge nevus on my buttock, so look like weird, I want to remove it – is it possible? (Pho
Giant congenital nevus
Nov 28, 2017
Hi there,
Based on the photographs provided, you appear to have a giant congenital hairy nevus. There is about a 5-10% lifetime risk that this nevus will convert into a malignant tumor, melanoma. I would recommend consulting with both a plastic surgeon and a dermatologist. The simplest solution would be to excise the entire thing and place a skin graft, but this would leave you with a significant deformity. Otherwise annual surveillance is a good option with a low threshold to biopsy…
How can I fix my breast? I think I have pectus excavatum and tuberous breast.
Breast concerns
Nov 28, 2017
Hi there,
It appears you have a “double-bubble” deformity, where the implant is too low and creates an usual contour in the lower aspect of the breast. This can be corrected surgically. You do have some pectus excavatum which can be treated in a number of different ways usually involving fat grafting or a surgical implant. Best to see a qualified plastic surgeon who can examine you and review the best options. Good luck!
Are my wish pics achievable with fat transfer?
Breast fat transfer
Nov 28, 2017
Hi happygirl33,
Breast fat transfer is an effective technique where fat is harvested from other areas of the body (such as trunk, thighs or arms) and injected into the breasts. There are limits to how much can be safely injected to ensure the fat lives in the new location. You can generally expect to go up about one cup size after this procedure. This procedure can be repeated many months later if you wish to increase your breast size even more. If you have the right expectations…
Looking to get chin liposuction
Chin solutions
Nov 28, 2017
Liposuction of the submental (or under chin) area is a relatively straightforward procedure that can permanently address excess fat pockets under the chin. The alternative is Kybella which is costly, requires multiple administrations, and often not as effective. Between the two, I would recommend liposuction for you.
The key to ensure either is a good choice for you is an physical exam, which would ensure that your fat is above (superficial to) the platysma muscle. Fat below…
What procedure(s) can I get to remove my under eye bags and discoloration? Price?
Eye bags
Nov 28, 2017
I am sorry to hear how profound an effect your concerns are having on your self-esteem and social life. Eye bags can be masked with filler, although this provides only a temporary solution. Surgery would involve repositioning the eyelid fat pads to make them bulge less and to mask the ‘tear trough’. Please do not ignore the psychological component to this. Seek advice from a qualified plastic surgeon and consider getting the help of a psychiatrist in dealing with self-esteem issues…
Multiple facial trauma. Any suggestions?
Facialtrauma
Nov 28, 2017
Sorry to hear about your injuries. You have suffered several facial fractures involving the mid-face and jaw bone. I would recommend seeing a plastic surgeon versed in craniofacial trauma as soon as possible. This far out from your injury will require a bit more extensive surgery but it can certainly be done. Best of luck.
