When you have a specific question such as this, it is often best to check your specific policy through your insurance carrier. Each policy is different and some even have exclusions for these types of procedures. Of those that do cover, the most common criteria are:
– Stable weight for 6 months
– Rash in the skin fold that is refractory to 3 months of medical management (i.e. topical or oral medications)
– Apron hangs at least to the level of the pubic symphysis (seems like…

There are some limited options without implants, including autologous fat transfer to the breast with a mastopexy (lift). This is usually a staged procedure and can require 3-4 operations. So it avoids the need for implants, but requires more operations.
I hope this helps,
Omar Beidas

Based on your symptoms, it certainly sounds like you have lipedema. This is a still a ‘new’ condition in the USA so many doctors do not recognize or treat it. I see two to three lipedema patients per week and operate on about as many. I would recommend you seek someone either in your area or a place where you can travel and start with a virtual consultation if not within driving distance.
Best of luck and feel free to reach out with any additional questions,
Omar Beidas

Thank you for your question! There’s no time you have to wait, but most surgeons recommend 3-6 months of stable weight, which usually takes about 12-18 months after bariatric surgery. If you plan to go through insurance, make sure you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who is knowledgeable in getting insurance approval for these surgeries. The procedures as a whole are generally called body contouring after weight loss.
Congratulations on a great decision and good luck…

Thank you for your great question! There are other techniques to repair rectus diastasis, however an in-person exam would be best to evaluate your anatomy and determine whether those options would be suitable. Best of luck to you,
Omar Beidas

It’s difficult to say with absolute certainty that you will get the result you want with surgery. The trade off of any arm lift (mini or other) is the scar for the removal of the excess skin, but the scar is not inconspicuous on the arms. Furthermore, the amount of excess skin you have is quote minimal (based on the pictures), so any intervention may be a long run for a short slide–meaning you may come out unhappy in the end. I would recommend getting a few opinions before…

Sorry to hear about your multiple surgeries that haven’t met your goals. It is difficult to evaluate you hard on the pictures, so I recommend you seek a board-certified plastic surgeon to do an in-person exam and discuss your desires and expectations.
Best of luck,
Omar Beidas

It’s difficult to give you the best answer without an in-person evaluation, but my opinion purely based on the pictures is that an FDL will not give you a significantly improved result. There may be other options for you, as I see this type of problem commonly, however I would recommend an in-person consultation to go over your goals and desires.
Best of luck,
Omar Beidas

Great question and thank you for posting! Just to clarify, a full abdominoplasty does not “detach” the belly button, it is actually preserved on a healthy stalk and brought out through a new hole created in the abdominal skin/fat. As for whether you would be a candidate for a mini, I think that is difficult to tell from the pictures you posted and without seeing you in person. My initial answer is yes based on what you posted, but an in person consultation will give you…

Although sometimes it can be difficult to determine purely based on pictures, I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that you have done a great job with weight loss and most of your leftover tissue is skin! Congratulations. Be careful what procedure you ultimately end up going for, as weight loss patients sometimes need different techniques compared to the average woman wanting an abdominoplasty. I would recommend you consult with a surgeon who has a lot of experience…

If you are looking only for skin removal, you could have a panniculectomy, which is the removal of only the skin between the belly button and the panty line. It does not involve muscle tightening. I do these often and the recovery is significantly less involved than an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
Best of luck to you,
Omar Beidas

Thank you for your question and I’m sorry to hear you were unsatisfied after your original surgery. I don’t believe any wish pictures were uploaded with your submission, but in any case your question is best addressed via an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon.
Best of luck,
Omar Beidas

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss! I would recommend seeing a plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in weight loss patients. I think in your situation, a BBL will be difficult and you will get better results with a buttock lift, but an in-person consultation would be best to determine what is optimal for your goals.
Best of luck and keep up the great work!

Thank you for the great question! It’s difficult to tell what the problem is without an in-person consultation. I recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon to take a look and offer you options.
Best of luck,
Omar Beidas
