Can sun exposure of uv index 1 induce wrinkles after retinol and AHA use?
wrinkles
Feb 18, 2019
No, it is not possible for that exposure to have that large of an impact so suddenly. It is very important to wear an spf of at least 30 on a daily basis, no matter the weather. Especially when using a retinol or any other exfoliating products. If these are new products you’re using, you could be experiencing Transepidermal Water Loss, which is basically water loss in your skin. Make sure you’re using a proper moisturizer. The wrinkles could also be caused by dehydration, diet, lack of …
I’m not sure what to do about the lines/creases on my neck?
Lines in neck
Feb 14, 2019
These lines in the neck are becoming common amongst people who have their head down a majority of the time, looking at their phone. Its a great idea to address them now, before they get worse. I would suggest picking up an anti aging cream for the neck. Revision skincare makes a great one called Nectifirm. They also have an advanced version. Also, getting microneedling treatments on the neck will also help to build collagen in the area.
I’m about to start Retin A, Hydroquinone and Glycolic Acid, but don’t know if I should use th
Order of use
Feb 12, 2019
These are all ingredients that you should only be getting from a Dr. Consult with the Dr. that prescribed them on use and order of use. Especially the Hydroquinone. You should only be using it for 3 months at a time. Make sure you know exactly what to do with each product, as these can all do more damage than good when abused and not used properly.
I’ve done 2 fractional laser treatments. What can you suggest for my acne scars?
Acne scars
Feb 12, 2019
I would suggest a combination treatment of a series of 6 microneedling treatments along with Bellafill injections in the deeper scars to fill them in.
Is it possible to have a hydrafacial ruin your skin?
Hydrafacial causing breakout
Dec 19, 2018
Normally a hydrafacial would help with breakouts but it’s possible that the treatment is irritating your skin and causing breakout. The breakout could also be caused by other issues. I would recommend seeing a dermatologist for topical medications for your acne. IPL treatments work well for reducing pigment. Chemical peels can help with both acne and pigment especially a peel with salicylic acid.
Can I get a HydraFacial within 10 days after getting my photofacial?
Hydrafacial between IPL treatments
Dec 19, 2018
Yes, as long as you don’t have any swelling a hydrafacial would be fine a week after an IPL. The hydrafacial will speed up the rate of exfolliation of your skin and might speed up the process of exfolliating the darkened pigment from the IPL.
Is tretinoin cream meant for daily use to prevent acne or is it designed to be used when blem
Tretnoin use
Dec 17, 2018
Tretinoin is a retinol product. Retinol works by speeding up the cell turnover rate, which keeps the hair follicle cleared out from getting plugged up with dead skin cells and oil. It would be best if you used it consistently, which will help keep the acne from popping up in the first place. It can be very dry and irritating, so you may want to start out using it every other evening or every third evening to ease your skin into it. As your skin gets use to it, you can start using it more…
Prescribed Clobex Shampoo for Face and Prednisone for ACNE by a Dermatologist
Hormonal acne breakouts
Dec 17, 2018
My suggestion is to visit a licensed esthetician. Acne can be from topical bacteria (touching your face, dirty makeup brushes, etc) or inflammation from inside of your body (hormones, diet, dehydration). Since you experience the most acne during your cycle, it sounds like it is inflammation from within your body from hormones. Getting on an exfoliating product such as iS Clinical Active Serum for night time use and a vitamin C, such as iS Clinical Pro-heal serum, in the morning can help…
is it okay to shave my face after 2/3 days after my session?
Shaving after IPL treatment
Dec 17, 2018
Yes, it is safe to resume shaving after receiving an IPL treatment! For more information, visit mahjouricosmeticsurgery.com
Chemical peel problem. Are these chemical burns?
Chemical burns
Dec 17, 2018
You should not be administering chemical peels on yourself. There are trained professionals for this for a reason. Peel strength goes by the percentage of the acid as well as the pH of the solution. There is also no reason to put on a 30% glycolic and three days later, apply it again. Please see a licensed professional for your skincare going forward. Apply an antibacterial ointment on the burns. You may have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation once it has healed. A licensed professional can…
Where can I purchase Retin-A .01 without going to a dermatologist? I have used it before. Can
Retin-A prescription
Dec 17, 2018
Prescription strength retinol is pure retinoic acid. A Retinol or Retinal are storage forms of retinoic acid. From Retinol or Retinal, there is a conversion pathway for your body to convert it to retinoic acid when it’s needed. There is no pathway for your body to turn pure retinoic acid into the storage forms. For this reason, prescription strength can be more irritating to the skin. If you’re unable to obtain a prescription for a Retin-A or similar brand, pick up a retinol product at your…
Accidentally rubbed my eyes after a chemical peel and got some of the product on my eyelids.
Chemical peel on eyelids
Dec 17, 2018
If your chemical peel was done 4 weeks ago, that is not the cause for your eyelid irritation. It has to be from something you’re using on a regular basis. Try switching out your moisturizer that you’re using and use an eye cream specific product. See an eye doctor if the issue with swelling and itching continues. For more information, visit mahjouricosmeticsurgery.com
Intense Pulsed Light Photofacial – Results, Alternatives
IPL
Dec 13, 2018
Yes, we highly recommend an IPL treatment. It works best to even out skin tone. Patients with pigment and vascular lesions get the best results. An IPL treatment should be done every month for four months for best results. IPL treatments also help reduce pore size and improve fine fines.
I fell in the shower after breast augmentation, can this cause problems?
breast augmentation
Dec 12, 2018
Thank you for posting your photo. It appears that your incision is healing well, even though you could have had minor bleeding/bruising after hitting the corner of the tub. It does not appear that you do have any deep injury and most probably this would not negatively impact your results. Don’t worry about capsular contracture due to this incident.More information : mahjouricosmeticsurgery.com
How can I reduce swelling at one week post-op?
labiaplasty
Dec 12, 2018
Thank you for posting the photo. It is unusual to have this condition one week post up. The complication is beyond loosing  a stitch or more, and icing would not help at this time. I highly recommend returning to your surgeon or seek another opinion if he/she is not available to see you right away.  More information : mahjouricosmeticsurgery.com
