Thank you for your question. If your masseter hypertrophy was caused by clentching of the jaw or grinding your teeth at night, it will take some time for you to rebuild the size the masseter muscle. In my experience, the results of botox tend to last a little longer when injected into the masseter for most patients. The botox is no longer working at 3-4 months, but it may take another 1-2 months to rebuild the muscle.

Thank you for your question. Dysport takes 10 days to take full effect (a little faster than Botox, which takes up to two weeks). If too much is injected you won’t be able to chew properly, so it is better to break it up over multiple treatments instead of over doing it. We get a high volume of sclerotherapy patients at our office and do see a difference if our patients stick to the post procedure protocol.
