Can I get 10 implants removed and go to dentures?
Your bite is so important
May 3, 2022
I am sorry you have had this experience. Your posterior bite (occlusion) is very important for protecting your front teeth and for function. I think you may have a few options, however I would highly recommend seeking the care of a prosthodontist, a dental specialist trained in complex restorative care and occlusion. You may have been the hands of a well meaning dentist that is unsure of managing your occlusion, especially if your vertical dimension needed to be restored. Find a…

Complex Restorative
Apr 11, 2019
You have a complex restorative case; it is not a simple one. You should seek out a prosthodontist – someone whom has specialized in complex dental restorative care and surgery. It is not an easy feat to place an implant in the front of your mouth and come out with an aesthetically pleasing result. You will need someone whom will also tend to the soft tissue (pink gums) and make sure that your gum line is nice and pretty. Ask you provider to show you before and after photos of both cosmetic…
I opted for opaque veneers and I am not happy with them. What should I do?
Composite Veneers
Apr 11, 2019
Perhaps you are referring to composite veneers. Composite is a material that is not translucent; does not allow any light to shine through, and will appear opaque or matte. If you not happy with the aesthetics of composite or the material your veneers are made of you can seek advice on porcelain or zirconia veneers.
Can I reshape my veneers for a more natural look?
Begin with end in mind
Apr 11, 2019
In cosmetic and restorative dentistry it is best to begin with end in mind. For example, we always create the desired aesthetic first in wax. When we have a wax up that is aesthetically pleasing to the patient we take it to the mouth in the form of temporary crowns. These temporaries are then worn and lived with while we make refinements and adjustments per the patient’s request and doctor’s discretion – until they are perfect for the aesthetics and function. In today’s digital world we…
Do I need a bridge adjustment?
Call right away
Apr 11, 2019
You need to call your dental provider whom delivered your bridge. You should not be experiencing what you describe. It is hard to imagine that needing to have a restoration adjusted slightly could cause such discomfort, but it can. Leaving the restoration “high” is detrimental to the tooth structure, periodontal ligaments and even the nerve of the tooth. It is unlikely that you will incur an additional charge; you should call and discuss what you are experiencing with your dentist.
Will wearing retainers on a dental bridge dislodge the bridge?
It may or may not…
Apr 11, 2019
Many people whom have bridges in their mouth also choose clear aligner therapy for straightening and aligning their teeth. These aligners are very much like “retainers”, and the treatment is successful. If the bridge is loose or in with a temporary or retrievable cement, it may be more likely that the retainers or aligners could dislodge your bridge, however your dental care provider will be able to handle this for you. If your retainer’s and/or aligners are your permanent or final set…
Is It Possible to Do a Bone Graft in Order to Close Black Triangle Between the Teeth?
Dreaded black traingles
Apr 9, 2019
Yes, the black triangle is dreaded by both the patient and the doctor. We are now using cosmetic filler’s like Juvederm to plump the tissue and fill the black triangle; particularly for patients that are opposed to bonding. Bonding is a more conservative approach than veneers and doesn’t lock you into a particular treatment modality, the same goes for cosmetic filler’s.
