Can I get breast augmentation if when I squeeze my nipple a drop of milk still comes out? Breastfeed f
Augmentation Lactation
Feb 15, 2023
This should not be a problem if it really is just a small drop. You want to make sure that there is not a cancer issue, which is unlikely. To make sure, I would have you get an ultrasound and a mammogram. If the flow was more than a drop you may consider getting a prolactin level. If this was elevated then a trip to the endocrinologist and a head MRI may be needed to rule out a rare prolactinoma. Otherwise, I would advise limiting nipple stimulation to reduce flow.
Could I address volume loss with a breast augmentation alone or will I need a lift as well?
Do I Need a Lift
Feb 15, 2023
This is a great question that many patients struggle with. Making a decision to do a lift is a difficult one as you are accepting more scars. The answer depends on many variables. Based on your photos, you could avoid a lift with larger implants. With smaller implants a periareolar mastopexy would be a good option.
Can nipple sensitivity be returned through implant removal or other procedures? 2 years post op
Nipple Sensation
Feb 15, 2023
A small percentage of patients will lose nipple sensation with breast augmentation. If it has been a year since augmentation, you will likely not regain sensation. Removing the implant will not make the sensation come back.
Considering a breast augmentation – Do I have tubular breasts? 31 y/o, just stopped breast feeding (ph
Tuberous Breasts
Feb 15, 2023
You do appear to have a mild case of tuberous breasts. I would recommend a periareolar mastopexy, dropping the breast fold, scoring the breast tissue, and placing an implant.
What is the best approach to achieve a fuller look while minimizing the chance of developing keloids?
Scars
Feb 15, 2023
Your scars look like hypertrophic scars. Difficult to tell with the photos. Keloids are tumors and are often confused with hypertrophic scars. Treatments for hypertrophic scars include Aldera, steroids, and low dose radiation. My choice is Aldera. I perform a test spot on an area out of view. There can be many complication with all of these options and you should make a plan with your plastic surgeon.
Is it safe to have breast augmentation surgery whilst 4 weeks pregnant?
Pregnant Augmentaiton
Feb 15, 2023
I would not have breast augmentation surgery if you are pregnant. There are risks associated with anesthesia. Moreover, your breasts will change and make your result unpredictable. Best to wait until after baby.
11 months post-op. How long can it take to drop and fluff?
How Long to Drop
Feb 15, 2023
The process of dropping can take some time. I tell patients 6 months. The process continues for years after and the breast will evolve over your lifetime. At one year, I would consider a revision for asymmetry. In you case, you want to ask yourself, “do I want more surgery to fix this.” If the answer is yes, then talk to your doctor. The problem with revision surgery is that it is less predictable and you can end up worse than you started.
Is it worth getting a breast augmentation 12 months before my wedding?
Wedding Implants
Feb 15, 2023
I always advise patients to avoid surgery before big events. You may develop capsular contracture, an implant infection, etc. The chance of having a complication is not likely, but if it does happen, it will ruin your big day.
Natural look breasts – over the muscle subglandular?
Implant Position
Feb 15, 2023
With less than 2cm of soft tissue in the upper pole, I would advise going under the muscle. The photos look like less than 2cm. If you go above, the look with be like an implant under skin. Going below the muscle, is a more natural look in your case. Under the muscle, you will want to avoid exercises that activate the pectoralis muscle. If you use the muscle a lot, you will likely need a revision sooner.
Breast augmentation next week & quit vaping today, am I more at risk?
Smoking Before Surgery
Feb 15, 2023
I advise patients to not smoke 1 month before and 1 month after surgery. You are at risk for complications with smoking. Most of all, you want to have a trusting relationship with your doctor. They can help you more if they know you are smoking.
