Drainage after Surgery
Mar 20, 2019
Hello. You appear to have multiple wound breaking down and hence your “leaking.” Does your doctor have another surgeon/doctor covering while he/she is out on vacation? I think you need to be seen by a doctor ASAP. In the meantime, make sure you keep the wounds clean (I usually tell my patient to wash the area or use wet to dry saline dressings, but different surgeons handle wounds differently) and if you develop any fevers or chills or other signs of infection that you seek medical attention…
Does the health insurance cover any portion of cosmetics surgery, such as anesthetic, pain medication, med
Insurance and Tummy Tuck
Mar 20, 2019
Hello. Typically your healthy insurance will not cover any of the costs of a purely cosmetic tummy tuck surgery. Some health insurances will cover a panniculectomy and some will cover a portion of the surgery if there is a need to fix a hernia; this is best answered with a consultation from a board certified plastic surgeon.
How long after a facelift is it safe to color my hair?
Hair coloring after facelift
Mar 20, 2019
Hello. For my own patients, I recommend waiting at least 4-6 weeks before exposing the incisions to any sort of hair chemicals. If the incisions are healing well after this period, I would put a thick layer of Vaseline, Aquaphor or A&D over the incisions to serve as a barrier before coloring.
Is it required that you need someone to pick you up after having a breast augmentation surgery?
Help after Augmentation
Mar 20, 2019
Hello. Yes, you definitely need someone with you after your surgery. You will be drowsy from anesthesia and need someone to help you get around safely. If you just lay in bed without moving around because you don’t have help, you can develop blood clots. Furthermore, you will be sore and will likely need help even with little things. You will also need help with carrying luggage and such. Good luck!
Extremely uneven settling post op Is this normal or could it be a sign of a problem Is there anything I co
Settling after Breast Augmentation
Mar 19, 2019
Hello. I would give the implants more time to settle. You may be able to help the higher side along with downward displacement exercises where you are pushing the implant down; but I would check with your PS before doing this. Good luck with your recovery.
How long after my breast reduction will the HORRIBLE ITCHING decrease?
Itching after Surgery
Mar 19, 2019
Hello. Usually the itching does not last more than a few days or a week for my patients. Some people may have continued itching from a reaction to something – maybe something you are putting over the incision or even some of the suture materials themselves. I would contact your PS regarding using some sort of anti-itching cream/ointment. In the meantime, plain Vaseline might help.
Is my “tenting” worth a revision?
“Tenting”
Mar 19, 2019
I personally would not seek a revision for this; it is not very noticeable and further surgery risks more complications.
Is stomach muscle pain normal after a lower body lift with hernia and muscle repair 6 weeks ago?
Pain after sugery
Mar 3, 2019
It can be normal to have pain at 6 weeks, especially given the multiple surgeries that you had. That being said, if you feel like something is off or if there is increasing pain, discomfort or swelling, be sure to speak with your PS. Good luck.

Surgery to help with loose skin
Mar 3, 2019
It is hard to say without pictures and a full evaluation but you may benefit from a breast lift and tummy tuck. Please consult with a board certitfied Plastic Surgeon. Good luck!
Using Biocorneum scar cream, looking for alternatives
Silicone scar gel
Mar 3, 2019
I agree with you that I love BioCorneum over other scar gels partly because of its sunscreen coverage, but in an area not exposed to the sun, you can either simply use paper tape or silicone gel. Paper tape is cheap but can sometimes irritate the skin. The silicone scar gel I recommend to my patients is the ScarAway 100% silicone gel or sheet.
My doctor said burning pain on side of left breast 4 days post op is normal?
Pain after sugery
Mar 2, 2019
Burning sensation after surgery can be a very normal part of healing. That being said, if it worsens or you notice increase in redness or swelling or significant increase in pain, I would call to be evaluated by your PS. Good luck.
2 weeks post-op, do my incisions look normal?
Incision looks fine
Mar 2, 2019
Based on your pictures, your incisions look like it is healing appropriately. After 2-3 weeks, you should be able to move your arms normally if everything is healing up accordingly. Good luck!
Do my breasts look tubular or just saggy? And would a breast lift without implants fix this?
Likely not tuberous breast deformity
Mar 2, 2019
From your picture, I do not think you have tuberous breasts. I think a lift would be helpful in treating the “saggy” appearance. If you want more volume, especially towards the top, then you may consider getting a breast implant at the same time.
I had my breast implants January 2018. I probably went a little bigger than I should have. What are my opt
Lift after breast augmentation
Mar 2, 2019
I would recommend going back to your PS and discuss getting or lift only or a lift and downsizing. Good luck!

Sensation recovery after breast augmentation
Mar 2, 2019
Unfortunately, after a year or so, the chance of you recovering nipple sensation is very low. I do not know of any practical ways of getting this sensation back.
