Textured implants were initially touted as having a lower risk of capsular contracture, but this has since been proven false. Textured implants do not have a lower risk of capsular contracture, they feel firm and unnatural, and they also place you at risk of developing a lymphoma called BIA-ALCL around the implant. You should have a smooth, round implant placed under the pec muscle to lower your risk of recurrent contracture.

I see no reason to place a vertical scar on your breast. I typically perform implant removal and capsulectomies through a 2-inch incision hidden along the IMF under the breast crease. While in-person examination would be necessary in order to confirm, you appear as if you could be a good candidate for a donut lift with implants, where the scar would be limited to around the nipple/areola. In terms of implants, I recommend smooth, round silicone implants in the vast majority of cases, and I have found the Mentor Volume Sizing System in my office to be especially useful in helping my patients pick the right implant for them. You’re an excellent candidate for a breast lift and should expect to be a perky and symmetric full C cup out of a lift alone. If you’d like to be even fuller, then a small implant could also be added, but I suspect you would do well with a lift alone. Hope this helps!

Typically removing a fibroadenoma can be done at the same time as your breast augmentation, saving you time and money. A needle biopsy of the fibroadenoma can be done before surgery to prove that it is benign if there is some concern.
