Geez, what could possibly go wrong here? You are sick AND planning to have surgery OUTSIDE the US. Either issue by itself can be a big problem. Seriously, your surgery is elective and it is NOT prudent to undergo it if you are sick. You may experience problems that otherwise could be avoided. Soreness of your breast(s) in this early postoperative period is quite normal and it is frequently asymmetric in nature. This by itself is not cause for concern. However, if one side is significantly larger than the other, has far greater bruising or is very painful as compared to the other side – these may indicate that you have a problem. However, if you do have certain concerns with the results, you should discuss them with your surgeon. It is still very early in your healing process to definitively determine what your sensation level will be long term. Numbness early on is quite common and is affected by a multitude of factors. It is possible that you may have some extent of fluid/blood accumulation that can be compounded by air deep to your skin/breast tissue that hasn’t fully be resorbed (absorbed) yet. However, based on a thorough consultation that includes such factors as anatomic issues, preferences, size, pros and cons of each implant type, it can usually be easily determined which implant type is best/right for you but ultimately you have the right to decide which way to go. You should best follow the advice of your plastic surgeon who is ultimately responsible for your care. As he knows you best, any questions that you have should be asked of him and his office staff.
