Biography: During her career, Johanna has worked working alongside some of the area's top rated dermatologists and surgeons at multiple dermatology offices and surgery centers throughout Maryland and Washington, DC.

Johanna has several years experience in cosmetic of dermatology. Specializing in fillers, chemical peels, botox and lasers, she has kept up with and is very knowledgeable about the latest skin treatments, skin care and procedures for facial rejuvenation, among other skin treatments. Johanna previously trained area physicians on the latest techniques of collagen facial fillers.

In 2010, Johanna completed the family nurse practitioner certification program at the University of Massachusetts. She has since continued to follow her passion for dermatology nursing, culminated by starting her own practice, Hagerstown Dermatology & Skincare, in 2013. Numbness is not typical post injection. It is normal to have some numbess for maybe an hour after injection as Juvederm syringes have lidocaine premixed into them however past that it is not normal. It's possible that placement of the filler may be causing some nerve compression and needs to be addressed by your injector. It will need to be dissolved.

I am so sorry to hear about this but there have been significant improvements and results with the use of PRP to the tear troughs. PRP is platelet rich plasma which is a process of drawing your own blood and spinning it down and extracting your own natural growth factors and stem cells. You probably would need 3 sessions about one month apart but it works well. Each time you have it done it builds upon itself and you achieve more volume in that area with each session. ...

Hyaluronidase is very safe and very effective to dissolve unexpected or undesirable effects of fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm. Restylane and Belotero are the best fillers for this part of the face and should be injected deeply to avoid lumps. You will be much happier once it's dissolved but make sure to wait at least one week before having the tear troughs injected with more filler because if there's any residual hyaluronidase it will dissolve the newly injected...

Sometimes what can happen with filler is that if you have been receiving filler over a period of time, the filler will move more superficially to the top creating a "tindel" effect which causes a "bluish-gray" color. It's not harmful but is noticeable more to you than anyone else. This is more caused by hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane.
