The best lip filler is one that the provider feels the best injecting in the lips. It is always best to use a soft filler like an hylauronic acid (HA) filler such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Vollure. They are all HA fillers and can be reversed if needed. Restylane and Juvederm are both 12 month fillers and Vollure is an 18 month filler, so it is up to patient and provider to determine what is best based on longevity, cost, injector preference etc.

Usually Restylane Lyft lasts approximately 12 months, it slowly degrades over the course of the year. Most people will add more Restylane Lyft before the 12 months so that the volume doesnt completely go away. Its great for midface volume loss, nasolabial folds, chin, temple, and marionette areas.

Vollure is one of the newer dermal fillers on the market. It is a medium density filler and great for nasolabial folds, lips, marionette areas etc. It is more dense than volbella (which is used for fine lines such as lip lines) and less dense than Voluma (which is used for malar areas in the cheeks most commonly). It is a very diverse filler and lasts up to 18 months. It is a HA filler (hylauronic acid) and can be dissolved if needed. Hope that helps!

I would not say its "risky" but I usually advice my patient to not work out at least 24-48 hours after injections with dermal filler to minimize bruising and swelling from taking place. The filler will not move from running or engaging in other activities; however I would not recommend anyone push or rub on the areas that filler was injected until swelling and tenderness subsides (approx 1 week) unless instructed to do so.
