Why do some doctors want to wait six months between procedures?
Time Interval Between Procedures
Jan 3, 2018
I assume you question you are asking is how long to wait between between similar procedures on the same site of the body; for example, a between a primary and revision liposuction. In general,it is better to wait longer between procedures. With rare exceptions, I would consider 6 months to be the minimal interval. For some aesthetic procedures, the interval can be as long as two years. Having said that, there are always extenuating circumstances in individual cases…
What is the difference between Laser Lipo, Lipo, and an arm lift?
Different Procedures for the Upper Arm
Dec 11, 2017
With conventional liposuction, in a back and forth motion, the plastic surgeon uses a surgical device known as a cannulae to contour the area and remove the fatty tissue.
With laser liposuction, a laser is used to help break up or melt the fatty tissue as well as tighten the skin. A smaller cannulae can then be used to remove and contour the fat.
An arm lift or brachioplasty is a conventional surgical procedure with a resultant scar. …
I have loose skin on my belly: Do you think laser lipo would help?
Minimally Invasive Options and Skin Tightening
Dec 6, 2017
For the proper patient, laser liposuction is one of several minimally invasive and non-invasive technologies that can tighten skin in the abdomen and elsewhere. Examples of other options include radiofrequency devices such as ThermiTight and Intensif. There is a limit, however, to how much skin they can tighten and surgical correction remains the gold standard. Which procedure is the best one for you can only be determined during a consultation with a board certified…
Sagging neck, non-surgical options?
Non-Surgical Options for Neck Tightening
Nov 11, 2017
A fair and accurate answer to you question can only be given to you after a consultation and examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. In the abstract, however, there are for the proper candidate several options for tightening of neck skin. These include microneedle plus radiofrequency devices such as the EndyMed Intensif, thread lift procedures (e.g. Silhouette (Instalift) or Nova Barbed PDO Threads), Precision Tx (SmartLipo), and ThermiTight.. ThermiRase…
What is wrong with a neck lift only? I don’t need my face done (no jowls).
Options for Neck Laxity Only
Nov 11, 2017
You can only get an honest and accurate answer to your question after being seen in consultation by a board certified plastic surgeon. In the abstract, however, patients that only have skin laxity in the neck alone can often be adequately treated by minimally invasive procedures such as Precision (SmartLipo) and ThermiTight. If in fact, the patient requires a more extensive surgical procedure, the incision cannot, in my opinion be limited to being just around the…
I am curious what I could do about this chub of stubborn fat in my armpit area. Lipo for armpit fat
Liposuction for Axillary Fat
Oct 30, 2017
Conventional liposuction, laser liposuction, and radiofrequency liposuction can all be done for correcting isolated fat pockets in the front and back of the axilla. It is my opinion that the laser or the RF are better choices because smaller instruments can be used and there is more tightening of the skin afterwards. It is a very common procedure and can be done under a local anesthesia.
Every patient is different, however, and your question can best be answered after…
Considering rescheduling augmentation due to a 15 to 20lb anticipated weight loss.
Weight Loss and Cosmetic Surgery
Oct 23, 2017
In general, it is always best to be at your lowest ideal weight prior to any surgical procedure. Loss of significant amounts of weight can obviously alter the shape and size of ones breasts.
To be completely accurate, however, this is something that you definitely should discuss with your doctor. Your surgeon has the benefit of having taken a full medical history, performed a complete physical examination, and knows the details of your planned surgery.
I have a lot of rolls on my back area. What is the best way to get rid of this? I cannot wear anyth
Liposuction of Back Rolls
Oct 23, 2017
For most patients, the back or bra line roles can be handles using one of the many liposuction techniques. In my experience the fat on the back is more fibrous than many other areas of the body and, therefore, requires either laser assisted or power assisted liposuction to get the optimum result. Every patient is different, however, and your question can best be answered by your own plastic surgeon after a complete history and physical examination.
Hoping to get liposuction to remove stomach fat & back rolls. Would laser lipo or traditional be be
Liposuction of Back
Oct 20, 2017
Liposuction of the lower back and the upper back rolls is more difficult than some other areas. A second round of liposuction in the same area will increase the level of difficulty. In my experience, those liposuction procedures that use a form of energy (power-assisted, laser-assisted, etc.) get better results on the back. The laser will not only help liquefy the fat to make its removal easier, but will also contribute to some skin tightening as well.
Only your own surgeon…
What is suction assisted lipectomy?
DIfferent Types of Liposuction
Oct 20, 2017
There are several different types of liposuction: conventional, laser-assisted, radiofrequency-assisted, ultrasonic, etc. They all have one thing in common. In all of them, a suction device is used at some point to help remove the adipose tissue in the case of conventional liposuction or the “melted” adipose tissue with laser-assisted, radiofrequency assisted, etc. The conventional or original type of liposuction is also known as suction assisted…
If my breasts are not equal will I require a lift?
Correction of Uneven Breasts
Oct 17, 2017
It is would not only be improper, but it is also impossible to fairly and accurately answer your question without a full knowledge of your medical history and performing a complete physical examination. Only your own surgeon could and should accurately answer your questions, address your concerns and give you medical information upon which to rely.
Some patients with breast that are asymmetric not only in size but in position (ptosis) can be corrected with implants…
Vertical facelift: can i get the same result from pulling my skin up from the temple?
Facelift Incisions
Oct 16, 2017
An incision that is totally in the temporal region is generally used for lifting the lateral part of the brow or forehead. In my opinion, one cannot get any demonstrable improvement in the mid and lower part of the face with a temporal incision alone.
A facelift incision that starts in the front of the earlobe, goes along the front of the ear, and up into the temporal region can be used in patients with minimal laxity of the face. This is often called a mini-lift or…

Correction of Chin Contour Without Surgery
Oct 15, 2017
There is no photograph included with your question. Nevertheless,It is would not only be improper, but it is also impossible to fairly and accurately answer your question without a full knowledge of your medical history and performing a relevant physical examination. In general, however, for the proper candidates, there are minimally invasive and non-invasive procedures that achieve correction of the contour of the jaw and chin,, reduce fat…
PAL Lipo w Dr #1 or Regular Lipo on back w Dr #2. How do I decide which one to use?
Best Liposuction Procedure for Back
Oct 12, 2017
There are many different types of liposuction procedures. Some of these are traditional liposuction, laser assisted liposuction, power assisted liposuction (PAL), and radiofrequency assisted liposuction. The choice of procedure is dependent on several factors including the site of the procedure (e.g., back, abdomen, neck, etc.) and the experience of the surgeon. It is my opinion that the back is a more difficult area to suction and is, thus, best treated by using…
I have done fillers. Will facelift take that out when it’s done? Should I have had the facelift fir
The Timing of Fillers and Face Lifts
Oct 11, 2017
The answer to your question is dependent on the type of filler used, whether it was injected superficially or deep, and where on your face it was injected. Fillers can last less than one year or they can be very long-acting. Some fillers are placed in the dermis of the skin (intradermal) and others are placed deep along the periosteum of the bone. Short-acting fillers such as the hyauronics placed around your lips, along your nasolabial folds and marionette…
