YES! It is not uncommon for reconstructed nipples to flatten over time. There are different flap techniques to create projecting nipples, and in most cases, secondary or revision nipple reconstruction can be performed to add projection to a flattened nipple. Occasionally, fat grafting or the use of acellular dermal matrix are used to add support to the flap reconstruction.

Based on your photos, it would seem that you could have an augmentation alone with Ideal implants and not require a breast lift. Detailed measurement of the distance from the nipple to the inframammary fold would be helpful to determine that for certain - if the distance is less than 10 cm under stretch, a lift is usually not needed.

It is difficult to make definitive recommendations without photos or a proper physical examination, but in general, the implant chosen is based on an assessment of the footprint of the breast that will be reconstruction based on the diameter of that breast. Either a textured implant or a round implant can create an aesthetically pleasing breast shape. Your surgeon will look at the opposite breast to help with the decision making.

It doesn't appear that there is any necrosis of your left nipple. It would be normal to have more discomfort after reoperation, since a second breast procedure, and internal manipulation of the breast was required.

Thanks for your question. You have some areas of slower or delayed healing of the right breast, but no obvious areas of breast skin infection. These areas should heal with guided wound care as prescribed by your Plastic Surgeon.
