My patients are instructed not to do any cardio type activities (this includes dancing) for three weeks after surgery. This type of activity can produce fluid that accumulates under the skin. Follow up with your plastic surgeon because, if you have fluid, he/she can aspirate this which will allow for faster healing and a better result. Also, if you were instructed to wear a compression garment or a binder, please follow your doctors’s instructions.

A mini tummy tuck would allow your plastic surgeon to re align your lower muscles to flatten the bulge that is seen on your side view. Have your plastic surgeon contact this general surgeon so that the general surgeon knows what was found at the time of your surgery. The bulge that you are seeing might be fluid under the skin. It would be difficult to separate the muscles after stitching them together, although that would be a question for you to ask your plastic surgeon since I do not know how he/she stitched them together. I use two layers of stitching and have never had any separate. Do follow up with your plastic surgeon because if it is fluid, he/she can drain it and you will have a faster recovery and a better result.

Generally, patients who undergo breast reduction surgery are on narcotic medication for only a few days, or, at the most, for a week after surgery. Then they change to taking Extra Strength Tylenol as needed. Follow up with your plastic surgeon to make certain that nothing else is going on. Since you had planned on returning to work in a few days, your doctor should be able to advise you.

Since your surgery will be performed under general anesthesia, you will not be able to drive home, and any respectable surgery center will not allow you to go home in a cab. Also, the person who will be picking you up will assume responsibility for your care, signing you out after reviewing instructions with your nurse.

Yes, a vertically stretched belly button oftentimes indicates that a person has had a tummy tuck. The two last photos show lower abdominal scars as well. I personally don’t like the appearance of a stretched out belly button. That stretched out result can be avoided by the surgeon by making the new belly button opening more circular to vertically oval shaped which is aesthetically better in appearance, and is what I do.
I had a tummy tuck and lipo on 10/5/16. I still have both drains in.
Drain output after a tummy tuck

Your drain output is normal. It usually goes from red to straw color, and can occasionally, go back to red. This is because there is a large space under your skin flap, and with change in activity, your drain output and color can change. Your incision on the left side looks ok. However, it looks like you are having drainage through your incision, or maybe your drain site (?), noting the fluid on your dressing pad. Do follow up with your surgeon.

If a donut mastopexy were to be attempted, you would most likely end up with ruffled edges around your areolas. Because you mainly have excess fatty tissue and skin in your lower abdomen, I would recommend liposuction with a mini tummy tuck. That would smooth out and flatten your lower abdomen with a short scar in your lower abdomen and no scar around your belly button.
