Healing process for inverted nipple surgery?
Recovery from inverted nipple surgery
Mar 31, 2023
Thank you for your question. Correction of inverted nipples is a short office procedure that is done under local anesthesia. A small incision of about 1 cm is made and the tethering ducts are divided. Two absorbable sutures are then placed. Downtime typically is a week or so and full activity at two weeks. Most people who have had the procedure are surprised at how quickly the condition can be corrected after having had it for years. Consult with Board certified plastic surgeon near you.
Is the gyno surgery worth it at 19 years old?
what to do
Mar 4, 2023
Thank you for your question. Your question is a very common one. The answer depends upon how you feel the gynecomastia is affecting you. Once gynecomastia sets in, it tends not to go away on its own or with exercise. THere is no medication that reduces gynecomastia. Surgery is directed at the fatty and glandular components of gynecomastia. Both must be addressed to completely treat the condition. Fat, once removed, will not regrow. Fat grows when you add calories, and shrinks when you…
Age 19 and don’t know if it is chest fat or gynecomastia?
fat or gynecomastia
Mar 4, 2023
Thank you for your question and photos. Based on your photos, you appear to be correct on both points. let me explain. Gynecomastia consists of two components, fat and excessive glandular tissue. The glandular tissue (yes, men have breast glands) is influenced by hormonal effects. My theory, is that steroids and antibiotics used in the food chain (meat and poultry industry) get in our system and exert their effects. Unfortunately, short of going off the grid and growing your own food, it is…
Is it normal for a surgeon to remove nipples during a breast reduction without consent?
No consent
Mar 4, 2023
Thank you for your question and I am sorry for what you are going through. Free nipple grafting is a technique used in the reduction of very large breasts when the blood supply to the nipple is questionable. This technique is typically discussed with the patient BEFORE surgery so that the woman can consider this possible option. It is highly irregular for this technique to be performed without discussing with the patient. If this technique is to be considered, it is obvious at the time of…

the case for breast reduction
Mar 4, 2023
Thank you for your question and photos. From your question, it appears you have jumped through all the hoops that insurance requires before approving breast reduction surgery, ie: PT, chiropractic, weightloss and have serious issues related to the size of your breast. You most certainly are a good candidate and at your young age, surgery at this time would avoid more serious neck and back problems down the road. Seek out an experienced, Board Certified plastic surgeon in your area who will…
Do I need a breast lift?
Lift or not
Mar 4, 2023
Thank you for your question and photos. You have very nice, natural breasts with no ptosis or droop. You absolutely do not need a breast lift. If you are looking for more volume, a modest size implant would provide that. But in my opinion ( 19 years a plastic surgeon) you look great and don’t need to do a thing. Enjoy your youth and check back in 15 years!!
Best wishes, Dr. Morrissey
Which among liposuction and gynecomastia surgery would be best in my case for chest fat? (phot
gynecomastia treatment
Dec 13, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. Gynecomastia treatment consists of liposuction of the fatty component of the chest and direct excision of the gland. The gland is denser than fat and is not able to suck through the liposuction cannula. Both components must be addressed to completely correct the gynecomastia. Consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss your options.Best wishes, Dr. Morrissey
Do I have gynecomastia & what are the best treatments?
treatment of man boobs
Dec 13, 2022
Thank you for your question and photo.Unfortunately, nothing short of surgery can correct gynecomastia. There are no medicines that can shrink the male breast, or female for that matter. A short surgery with an incision in the armpit can remove the fatty component as well as the gland behind the nipple to obtain a flatter, more masculine appearance. Consult with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to find out your options.
Regards, Dr. Morrissey
Breast lift or reduction: What am I a good candidate for?
lift or reduction
Dec 9, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. If you are happy with your size, a breast lift would be worth looking into. Really, the difference in a lift vs a reduction is the amount of tissue removed. The incision pattern is the same. You will be able to have some upper pole fullness with a lift. Consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss all your options. You won’t regret it.
Regards, Dr. Morrissey
I want upper pole fullness after breastfeeding – How to figure out the best size?
best size
Dec 7, 2022
Thank you for your question and photo. From your photo, your breasts appear pretty symmetric in terms of size. There does appear to be “droopiness” that is, the breast skin rests on the skin of the upper abdomen. To give you upper pole fullness and more volume a breast lift with augmentation may be considered. The implants will give you the volume you seek and the lift will reposition the nipple/areolae complex over the implant and take in loose skin to give the upper pole fullness. Consult…
What sort of options are available for my gyno & how to find a doctor that can perform the sur
gyno or no
Dec 7, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. Gynecomastia is characterized by enlargement of the male breast area. Often, the areolae are widened and puffy. One can often feel a firm “knot” of tissue directly behind the nipple. It is important to remove this tissue behind the areolae in order for the areolae to shrink. Older techniques typically led to scarring on the underside of the areola. A minimally invasive approach from the axilla hides the scar and addresses the core of the issue: fat and…

Implant input
Dec 1, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. From your photos I can see your breasts are symmetric and size and youthful appearing ( no droop (we call it ptosis)). From the side view, the nipples appear to be at or slightly above the inframammary fold ( the crease where the breasts come out from the chest wall). You didn’t state how tall you are and your weight, but I would surmise that implants in the 400 cc range would give you the full look that your “aspiration” photos have. Consult with an…
Would a tummy tuck or lipo 360 help target my mom pouch, back fat, and love handles? 176 lbs,
what to do?
Dec 1, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. With out actually examining you, it can be difficult to give a real good opinion. From the pics, I would say a tummy tuck ( which would address the “mom pooch” and loose abdominal skin combined with liposuction to address the “love handles” . If the abdominal skin is not loose, and the abdomen is protrudes, this is usually due to fat that is inside the abdomen and around the intestines. If this is the situation, a tummy tuck may be difficult as after…

what to do?
Dec 1, 2022
Good morning and thank you for your question and photos. First of all, congratulations on your successful weight loss. Unfortunately, the weight loss and subsequent “deflation” often leaves loose skin that can rub together, skin can break down, fungal rashes can occur, (and in Texas, the summer heat sure doesn’t help. Addressing your belly, the goal would be to remove the loose skin that is rubbing together- a panniculectomy/tummy tuck will remove the loose skin down low through a low,…
I’m 8 months postpartum – mini tummy tuck or full?
Mini or full?
Dec 1, 2022
Thank you for your question and photos. First question is ” are you finished “in the family way?””. If not, I would delay until after your family is complete. Your photo shows, loose, postpartum skin with some hooding of the umbilicus. A mini TT will remove the loose skin and leave the abdominal skin taught. Typically there is some muscle separation that can be addresssed. It may be necessary to “float” the belly button, meaning, the belly button may sit 2-3 cm lower than it is now to allow…
