Am I a tummy tuck candidate (actually looking for full mommy makeover)?
You will be a great candidate for a MM
Mar 26, 2021
I think you will be a great candidate for a MM. Your BMI will be lower by the time of your consultation making surgery even safer. You appear to have a rectus diastasis and some extra skin that would be treated with a TT. Regarding the breast treatment of a MM – it varies and this can entail implants, implants and a lift or a reduction/lift.
Plastic surgeons will vary in their recommendations for a BMI cutoff for abdominoplasty and body contouring surgery.
Would I be a successful candidate for a lower facelift and neck lift?
Excellent candidate for a face and neck lift
Feb 1, 2021
Judging from your photos you have some jowling, prominent nasolabial folds, and submental fat and skin. You have also lost some volume in the midface. I think you are an excellent candidate for face and neck lift, possibly with facial fat grafting. There are numerous different “types” or techniques of facelifting and how to address the neck. The recommended approach depends on the surgeon’s preferences and the patient’s anatomy. See a PS who can evaluate you and give you a comprehensive…
Am I a good candidate for a full tummy tuck?
Tummy Tuck
Jan 30, 2021
Congratulations – it is wonderful you are remission! You appear from your photos to be a very good candidate for a full abdominoplasty/tummy tuck. I would recommend your weight be stable for at least 6 months prior to surgery. However, it’s important to put things in perspective with regards to your cancer diagnosis. Are you getting any long term chemo or other therapies. I recommend you see a board-certified PS who can evaluate both your abdomen and full medical history and have a frank…
Should I get an extended tummy tuck, FDL TT, or lower body lift?
FDL abdominoplasty
Jan 29, 2021
Congratulations on your weight loss! Looking at your photos you would appear to be best served with a FDL. You have excess skin in the epigastric area and no back rolls. I do not think a standard abdominoplasty is enough and a lower body lift is not needed. A FDL will narrow your waistline in a way that extended abdominoplasty. There are always trade offs so check out your options. If you like a fuller bottom, a belt lift may be a better option. Best of luck with your surgery.
Would I be a candidate for a complete mommy makeover?
Tummy tuck alone or get more work up on galactorrhea prior to MMO/breast surgery
Jan 24, 2021
You appear to be a good candidate for an abdominoplasty. A tummy tuck with tightening of your abdominal wall (rectus plication) and some liposuction should give you a flatter abdomen.
You appear to be a good candidate for a breast lift (mastopexy). Whether or nor implants are a good choice depends on your goals. You mentioned you are happy with the size but not the appearance of your breast. A lift will elevate your nipple and can create a perkier breast. Implants can give you more volume…
Should I wait to get my MMO after my gastric sleeve surgery?
6 months at goal weight before MMO
Jan 24, 2021
Congratulations on your weight loss. I recommend waiting at least 6 months once you have your goal weight before undergoing MMO. The risk of complications is lower with a BMI less than 30. You want to be at you goal weight in order to get the best looking result with the lowest risk of a complication. Additionally, if you continue to lose weight after MMO your skin will have recurrent laxity. It is also important be at a stable weight for 6 months as some patients gain some weight back. It…
Do I need lift as I was hoping no lift will be needed?
Breast augmentation and circumareolar lift
Jan 23, 2021
Breast implants can give a minor lift effect by increasing the projection of a breast. In some cases of mild ptosis (dropping nipple) a lift is either not needed or optional. Placing implants into a breast has also been likened to placing a magnifying glass on asymmetries or ptosis (descent of nipple). If you have implants placed it accentuated the downward portion position of the nipple. This can look worse with larger implants. You appear to have enough ptosis that a lift will move the…
I am not sure if I need a mommy makeover with uplift and implants, what do suggest? (Ph
Excellent candidate
Dec 23, 2020
Based on your photos you look like an excellent candidate for an abdominoplasty and mastopexy-augmentation. You don’t appear to need much liposuction but it can be used to countour your hips. The decision about the exact ptype of mastopexy, implant size and profile should be discussed with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes and good luck with your surgery!
Can I undergo elective cosmetic surgery with cancer?
Treat your cancer first
Oct 2, 2020
Hello,Without knowing your medical history I will give you some general observations.
Most patients that get a lumpectomy have radiation to the breast afterwards. Radiation may start 4-8 weeks after the lumpectomy. You may not feel like undergoing an elective cosmetic surgery for awhile after radiation. Always ask your PS what they recommend in terms of a delay. I would not recommend any elective cosmetic surgery until your have recovered from your chemo, lumpectomy, and possible radiation….
I’m 5’6″, about 171 pounds and wear a 36DDD. Would I qualify for a reduction?
Check with your insurance about breast reduction criteria
Oct 2, 2020
If you are looking for insurance coverage for breast reduction surgery there are several factors that “qualify” a patient. Criteria include symptoms related to large breasts, measures done to alleviate symptoms, but more importantly height, weight, and how much tissue is estimated to be removed. Every insurance carrier has different criteria for the amount of planned removal of breast tissue needed to qualify for coverage. In some cases patients may not have enough excess breast tissue to…
Areolar vs inframammary incision for implant removal and en bloc capsulectomy?
inframammary incision for implant removal and en bloc capsulectomy
Oct 2, 2020
I prefer an inframammary fold (IMF) incision for en bloc capsulectomy and implant removal in most cases unless a patient’s areola is very wide. It also depends on the size of the implant, as a larger implant with the capsule would be harder to get out en bloc thorough a periareolar incision. Good luck.
Is Vita Medica products for surgery recovery okay to take for TT, bbl & lipo?
Is Vita Medica products for surgery recovery okay to take for TT, bbl & lipo?
Mar 19, 2014
Any herbal or homeopathic products should always be discussed with one’s surgeon prior to any surgical procedure. It is important to discuss what – if any – supplements or products are allowed post op. Best of luck with your surgery.
